Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas conforms to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which mandates state and local governments give civil rights protection to individuals with disabilities the same as provided to individuals on the basis of race, religion, sex, and national origin.
Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas and its contracted one-stop providers adhere to the following:
- Reasonable accommodations are made for qualified applicants and employees with disabilities who can perform the essential functions of the job.
- Persons with a history of disabilities and those assumed to have disabilities are not discriminated against.
- People with disabilities in all employment practices including recruitment, hiring, training, job assignment, pay, layoff, firing, promotions, leave, benefits and all other employment-related activities are not discriminated against.
- Programs and activities are physically and programmatically accessible to individuals with disabilities.
- Premise reviews of funded facilities are conducted to ensure that the employment opportunities of persons with disabilities are not limited and that they have access to all the benefits offered.
- Programs are available to and usable by persons with disabilities and when alternate provisions shall be made, they are provided in the most integrated setting possible. Auxiliary aids shall be provided to participants in all program areas when requested and may include sign language interpreters, readers, taped materials or telecommunication devices for individuals with hearing impairments
- Relay Texas is a 24-hour service that program administrators utilize as a liaison/translator to receive TTY/TDD calls. The number for Relay Texas is 1-800-RELAYTX or 1-800-735-2989.
