2022 Annual Celebration - A Virtual Workforce Odyssey

Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas celebrated with Board members, customers, partners, and staff, recently during the 2022 Annual Celebration - A Virtual Workforce Odyssey.  In addition to highlighting the impact of Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas over the past year, several customers and partners were also celebrated for their success.  

Customer success stories included Kiara Johnson , Avery Holcomb, Frelando Rawls, Rasheida Jackson, Jeremiah Evans, and Brittnei McGill.  These customers are truly an inspiration in their pursuit of education and career success.  

The Texas Rising Star Award was presented to Lollipop Kid Shop for their commitment to high quality child care. 

The Sulphur Springs/Hopkins County, Mount Pleasant, and Paris Economic Development Corporations were recognized with the Workforce Partnership Award.  These economic development corporations have been excellent partners for the workforce system, supporting several High Demand Job Training grants, designed to create new training opportunities in Northeast Texas. 

Four area employers were recognized for their partnership with Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas and their efforts in the local communities they serve.  These awards included:

  • HireAbility Employer of the Year: Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation, Mount Pleasant
  • Local Employer of Excellence: Heritage Home Health, Texarkana
  • Small Employer of the Year: American Spiral Weld, Paris
  • Large Employer of the Year : Diamond C Trailers, Mount Pleasant

We recognized two outgoing Board members, CEO Honorable Becky Wilbanks and former Board Vice Chair Mary Dwight.  

Finally, the event concluded with the Award of Excellence.  This award is given to a staff member who goes above and beyond throughout the year and has a significant impact on the organization and the customers we serve.  This year's Award of Excellence recipient was Jeff Clapp.
