Filing for Unemployment Insurance (UI)

Workers who lose their jobs through no fault of their own may be eligible for unemployment insurance benefits. To qualify, you must meet certain eligibility requirements – such as the employer was downsizing, the company closed, etc. You must also be actively searching for work to maintain your benefits.

The Texas Workforce Commission process all UI claims. All questions related to unemployment benefits must be submitted to the Texas Workforce Commission either online or by phone. For information, you may call the tele-center at (800) 939-6631, Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
