Average wage rates can help employers determine appropriate wage levels for a new position.  Company's can also compare their wages to the region to determine whether they offer a competitive wage for the market.  The following table shows wage rates for all occupations, both hourly and annually, for the Northeast Texas region.

The wages represented are based on reported wages and fall into a few categories:

  • Mean Wage - Average wage of all individuals no matter skill or experience level.
  • Entry Wage - Typical starting wage of any individual with 0-6 months experience
  • Experienced Wage - Typical wages of an individual with 5+ years of experience, typically with a certification or degree as well
  • 10 Percentile Wage - Average of bottom 10% of wages reported
  • 25 Percentile Wage - Average of lower 25% of wages reported
  • Median Wage - Wages in the middle of the lowest and highest wages
  • 75th Percentile Wage - Average of 75% of wages reported - typically more experienced 5+ years to middle management.
  • 90th Percentile Wage - Average of the top 90% of wages reported - typically highly experienced 10+ years to upper management.
